In 2024, Siegen celebrates 800 years of city history, evolving from the small settlement of Sigenia to today’s university town.

Migration has always been an integral part of the regional and urban history of Siegen and the Siegerland. The exhibition Siegen. Foreign? Home? makes this visible for the first time through personal items from local residents, loaned to the museum for the duration of the exhibition. During the guided tour, visitors will discover these items, the personal stories and memories behind them, and the contexts in which these objects exist. Additionally, visitors will get a behind-the-scenes look at the exhibition and have the opportunity to actively participate at interactive stations.
